In the summer of 2015, during the Tropical and Travel Medicine seminar, of the postgraduate study program International Medicine – Health Crisis Management of the Medical School of Athens University, there was a visit at the St. Laurent orphanage.

The visit at the orphanage lasted a few hours, but it was enough to show the hard “face” of such an institution. The Heads of the orphanage struggle daily to ensure the inalienable rights of the children. They are struggling to provide food, shelter, water, education and health. They struggle for the right to a safe and happy childhood.

The personal commitment so that such an important trip and a strong aquaintance with the children of the orphanage does not consist olny of stories and photos, created the IfakarAid association with a bank account of its own.
